MiniFirewall is a Mac app (macOS 13.0 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel) that shows every website and app your Mac is talking to, and blocks any of it with one click. It never interrupts you with pop-up questions: nothing is blocked until you say so. Your traffic stays on your Mac. Nothing is collected, nothing is sold, and there are no ads.
A question, a problem, or something in the app that does not make sense? Send a message and you will get a reply directly from the developer, usually within two business days.
Something is blocked and you cannot get online
Open MiniFirewall, go to Blocks, and untick the block you added most recently. Unticking pauses a block without deleting it, so you can put it back afterwards. If the app will not open, macOS can switch the whole thing off: System Settings, Network, Filters, then turn MiniFirewall off.
MiniFirewall is built to fail on the safe side. If anything inside it goes wrong, it allows the connection rather than blocking it, so a bug should never be what takes your Mac offline. If it ever does, tell us and that is a serious bug.
What helps when you report a problem
- Your macOS version, from the Apple menu, About This Mac
- Whether your Mac is Apple Silicon or Intel
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- If something was wrongly blocked or wrongly allowed: which app, and which website
The fastest route is Report a problem inside the app. It gathers the technical details for you, shows you exactly what it would include, lets you take the logs out if you would rather not send them, and hands the message to your own email program so nothing is sent until you press send.
